My name is Scott Walker. I am 21 years old, and I was born on May 13th, 1990. I have been fascinated with the world of graphic design since I was young. I began learning about the industry around the age of 14. I would spend my days on various Photoshop tutorial websites soaking up as much as I could about the program, and applying it to images of my own. I mastered the program around the age of 17; right around the time I began getting interested in photography.

When I was 17, I began hitting up record labels asking if they had any odd jobs that they need completed. I was lucky enough to snag a small contract job with the widely known Fueled By Ramen record label, designing a summer merchandise line for one of their top bands; Cute Is What We Aim For. I was stoked to be given this opportunity. The job lasted for 2 months, and during that time I designed 5 graphic tees, 2 boy shorts, a button pack, and a messenger bag for them.

In 2008, after purchasing my first DSLR camera, I began integrating my knowledge of Photoshop with my growing knowledge of photography. I would take pictures of my friends, and then go home and create crazy manipulations on them using Photoshop. I fell in love with it almost instantly. Then, at the mere age of 18, I was hired by a music publication known as DanielJames Magazine. I was given the title; Chief Media Director.

As Chief Media Director I was in charge of both designing and assembling each issue of the publication by the deadline presented to me. Fluent knowledge of programs such as Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign were required. I managed a team of six graphic designers, and had full control over how each issue was laid out and designed from the front page to the end cover. After working with DanielJames for just 6 months, I was given a promotion to Lead Photographer.

I was only 19 years old when I was given my job as lead photographer for Danieljames Magazine. My responsibility was to get in contact with record labels and band managers to set up interviews and photo shoots with artists touring through the southern California area. I would take and edit pictures that would later be used in the current months issue. It was a wonderful feeling looking at the drafts of each issue, knowing that 95% of it was my handiwork. Each page was riddled with pictures that I snapped, on a layout that I designed.

Unfortunately, after only a year and a half’s time, DanielJames went under. I had the time of my life. I was a teenager, working with some of my favorite bands, doing what I love to do. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Here is a list of bands that I have worked for during my stint with DanielJames;Mayday Parade, Fearless Records, Go Radio, The Cab, Cute Is What We Aim For, Fueled By Ramen Records, Gwen Stacy, The Dangerous Summer, Sparks The Rescue, Attack Attack, Nevershoutnever, Lipona, Scott: The Musical, Cartel, The Cab, His Coming Day.

After Danieljames fell through I decided to open up my own photography studio out of my house. I did graphic design, and photography work for bands and other clients throughout 2011. I now reside in Las Vegas, Nevada. I started the Tragically Hilarious site out of boredom and my love for writing. I am currently looking for work in either of the writing, graphic design or photography fields.
